i'm heading over next week with some famiily from ireland, i've been reading the other disscussions on money, and my head is slightly twisted, i've budgeted to bring a thousand euro, we're heading for 2 weeks, i don't want to have to be tight with the money, we plan to eat out every night and an odd lunch plus do a trip or two, just wondering is this enough, hope to have some left for shopping and would hate to have to be trifty whe on holidays, whats the average cost for a dinner, and alcohol wise, i drink wine or what evers cheap, any suggestions? all reply's are appreciated, thanks

Hiya, even for two people unfortunately that would not be sufficient for what you want to do with it. I would suggest doubling it. As someone else said on a thread like this one, pick a figure then double it and then you will nearly be there. Costs seem to rise wherever you go these days.

not sure but the thousand was just for myself, one person, thinking of bring 1200, now is that enough for what i initally intended 1200 for 1 person for 2 weeks

dinner out, odd lunch, 2 trips and shopping 1200 euro for 1 person for 2 weeks and we won't be going mad at night going with my mother and teenage sisters, under age, so no big drinkers here, i'm getting worried now,, help!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my humble opinion, you can have a great holiday for 1200 Euros per person per fortnight.

You can spend double that if you want to, and you can spend half that if you are careful.

You didn't say if you are staying in a hotel, full board/half board, B&B or self catering. These can affect some of the calculations.
