rock pool type beaches
Hi
We are staying in Carvoeiro 8/6/08-22/06/08 and have two kids in tow. We are planning on getting out and about away from the villa and want to visit many of the beaches. Are there any rock pool type beaches that the kids are likely to enjoy? We are hiring a car (yet to be done!!!) and so we don't mind a bit of a drive.
Thanks

Yes indeed. LOOK HERE.blue wrote:When the tide is out most of the beaches have pretty little rock pools & caves to explore the tide times are printed in the Resident I think, but you need to be careful, the tides & currents can be very strong & can change quite quickly.
As you have a car I would suggest Praia da Luz about 20 mins drive west. The bed rock slopes gently into the sea there. There is a beach larger than Carvoeiro and then a similar sized area or sloping rock so lots of rock pools ideal for kids to explore.
Don't be put off by the Maddie McGann episode which was there - the town is very quiet and safe - you could have a problem in any town anywhere in the world.
