A group of us are going to Carvoeiro in the summer and was wondering how Carvoeiro's nightlife is for a group of 18 year olds?? How are the bars and clubs??

Carvoeiro is a super place, but for nightlife you had better rebook your holiday in Albufiera just up the coast, (which I would expect to be a better bet for you.)

Hi Beaso,
I agree with with David Johnson, Carvoeiro is great but more for families or couples. If you want Nightclubs and Pubs that are more geared for 18 year olds you would be better off in Albufiera.

I think it's about time we asked the question, what would you like to be happening. Carvoeiro has some pretty lively spots including the Jailhouse and Mungos. So your 18, but what do you want? To be honest, if your quite happy with music, company and a pint then you won't go far wrong.

well im 18 too and ive bein in carvoeiro for last 2yrs and im going back this year...i love carvoeiro and if your gang is any way inventive the nightlife is fine!didnt see- if your male ye wud definetly find it too quiet!if ye are a group of girls ye sud still have a good time...besides look at it this way-praia da rocha is only a 20min drive away-and that is where the nitelife really is!!!deres loads of taxis...

Well i'm 18 and have been going to Carvoeiro for many years-will be there again this summer with friends of the same age! I feel that it is fine for nightlife and you can have good nights which can sometimes go on until 6 - 7 am not including the foam parties. It is also very convienent for towns which if there is a quiter night in the week are more lively and are all within 20 minutes drive in a taxi!!

Hi,

I have visited The Algarve many times and enjoyed its nightlife to the max.
A must to go to is 'praia da oura' which is actually a part of Albufeira. I find Albufeira ok but the real thing definately happens at the strip in Praia da Oura. From Carvoeiro it's only a 40 minutes drive and doesn't really cost you that much so don not worry! Lots of bars,clubs young people, fun.

You are mad to go to Albufeira and especially The Strip - it is SO commercialised! I haven't met a young person yet who thinks Carvoeiro is not good for the nightlife. There's plenty of places to go. Someone I know who went with their grown up children only saw (or heard!) them about 7.30 in the morning, when they came home! Now for those of us with grown up children I think that's a pretty good deal for us parents - don't you?!

Stick with Carvoeiro and you'll be fine! It's also a pretty safe place to be!
