Where are you celebrating New Year?

Post by Karen Ann »

Now that Christmas is nearly over we're looking forward to new year. I was wondering where everyone was spending new year and how they were celebrating it.

We have had Christmas at home in UK with family, seeing our grandchildren playing with their new toys & games was lovely, but now we are packing our cases and heading for the Algarve. We fly out tomorrow, our apartment is in Portimao, however, we always head for CVO for new year. To save on taxi fares(as I will be in no fit state to drive) we have booked into CVO Sol for the night.
We have booked a table at Columbos so if anyone is eating there I look foward to seeing you.

Finally for those I don't see " Feliz ano novo".

We are celebrating at home, it is my turn this year. We do a New Years eve party on rotation every year with our very good friends here in Somerset.

This year we will start with dinner at mine, then on to dancing until we listen to the chimes of Big Ben on the tv, Champagne followed by a lot of dancing and generaly getting either drunk or knackered!! hehe.......

Only problem is the mess to clear up before I can go to bed, I can't just leave it until the next day so always clear up as much as possible before I take the dog for a walk and then crawl to bed

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL, I hope it is a kind year to everyone

We're going to Praia Grande in Ferragudo to watch the fireworks going off along the coast - Ferragudo, Portimao, Praia da Rocha and Alvor. It's supposed to be around 5 km long and the biggest fireworks display in Europe. We're taking champagne and a box of prawns to eat! Happy New Year to everyone.
