The new Motorway
Arrived at Carvoiero yesterday. Came in on the new motorway. Its fantastic ! As you exit the motorway, big signs to CARVOIERO
But be careful, just as you need it, the sign to Carvoiero itself runs out, and you need to follow sign to Lagoa SUL and not Portimao. You then land on the 125 heading East just by the Water Park.
And the best part of it all was this morning at 09:45 we had to take the 125 east to Guia and it was EMPTY. OK, I know its February, but it certainly bodes well for the summer.

Very good news indeed, I wondered where it would "pop out" for Carvoeiro. I had visions of driveing through Lagoa and the one way systems! This web site is in the process of updating the picture route from Faro, so will look forward to that. Coming out in March for 2 nights to check out the villa so will sample it then. Thanks for the input.

Thank-you for answering my queries on the Lagoa -Silves road and you have eased my mind when you say that they are doing their best to keep the surrounding countryside as natural as possible and you are perfectly right when you say it takes time for the greenery to settle back. I suppose I am being maybe a bit too nostalgic, thinking back to when it was my home.
You are certainly right about the new link to Lagos (in saving time through Portimao). When my husband had his business and I had my gardening work it would take an age to get through there to places like Mexilhoeira Grande, Senhora da Verde & Lagos(and this was from our base near Algoz!)
Talking of motorways have you tried the new one to Seville yet ?Carlos (the silver-haired taxi driver in Carvoeiro) says it takes about 3 hours. Intend to try it when I drive out to Algarve in August.
