Have you tried the Carvoeiro Tennis Club (up near Seismarias) - you don't have to be a member to play there - in fact they positively welcome the variation that visitors provide. When we are out in cvo we always go up and just join in with whatever is going on - Mens singles evenings, mixed doubles (Sun morning and Thurs afternoon) etc. Once they know your standard they are quite happy to organise suitable games for you or put you in touch with people to arrange your own games.
