STRIKE - IMPORTANT
STRIKE - IMPORTANT
We have just received information that the fire department at Faro Airport has gone on strike and therefore all outgoing and incoming flights are grounded.
Update: We have not been able to get detailed information at Faro Airport information as the lines are busy - will keep trying.
Update: The duration of the strike is all day today and will affect air travel to a certain extent. Some flights may be able to land and take off, but it is more likely that inbound flights are either cancelled or diverted to Sevilla and Lisbon and the passengers transported by bus.

I have minibusses travelling to & from Faro all day today. Several of our guests arrived on flights this morning without any trouble. Now there are a few delays 3-4 hours. But due to the lack of fireman on duty, the larger aircraft are being diverted to Seville NOT Lisbon as Lisbon airport is in the same situation. Ryan Air due to the reduced safety staff on the ground decided to cancel all flight today.
