My experience of people from TV on holiday is fairly limited but those who are actors seem just to want to keep a low profile and have a nice quiet time. The only times I have come across boorishness is from a Newsreader and Tommy Cooper and nobody really knew if he was serious or just mucking about but he gave the poor old waitress a hard time.

Inclined to agree with Sally..you are all 'celebs' on this forum
Im bored to tears with so-called celebs, who seem to take over, the papers, mags,tv etc.. and I would much rather meetup with any of you on here thats for sure!
About 3 weeks ago, on a saturday, my oldest lad met Prince William (he was doing security at a polo match for the prince)..Jeff called me that night and said what a nice chap he was. I said something like 'Im sure he is'.
But Im not impressed by celebs or royals. They are flesh & blood like you & me. I don't worship any mortals.
I admire people for their ways or talents(which includes my own family), but many so -called celebs leave me cold.

People are only 'celebs' coz some people fawn all over them.
In most cases being on the telly or in a soap is just a job to them.
I think when they are shopping or on holiday they are just normal
people and would rather be treated that way.
Perhaps a new thread should read....

I totally agree about celebrity. I work in television, and work, or have worked with most of the well known celebs at one point or another.
The vast majority are hard working professional, genuinely nice people, who recognise that they are only where they are as the visible tip of an iceberg, which is the team that they work as part of.
My experience is that those who "seek celebrity", or act the anal "star" are not in the main worthy of their status, and those so called "big names" who act this way are almost universally despised within the business.

Its true what you say Jackie (about people putting 'celebs' on pedestals/fawning over them)..
same with the royals. I never forget the way Princess Anne spoke to some elderly lady, who'd waited outside church at Christmas time, to meet them.
She was so rude, think she called the lady silly or stupid or something like that. Anyway I mustn't get started on royals
I suppose some would say the old lady shouldn't have bothered(I know I wouldn't), but there was no need to be offensive.
I bet theres lotsa people on this site have had more interesting lives than those we see trotted out daily in our papers & mags.
Ive met quite a few and hope to meet more..will have an eye out for those oranges

I can remember the princess Anne outside the church at Sandringham,
what a surly madam! Also when she fell over n someone tried to
help her up she went off on one, should have left her n gave her
a little kick
I know an ex footballer here in our village (wont say who as he's
still in the football world) and you could'nt meet a nicer bloke.
We always talk about our holidays and he went to CVO last year
but nobody saw him. Would have gone back this year but couldnt
get the same villa.

Prince Philip once said, if it doesn't fart or eat hay, shes not interested!

Jeremy in some strange weird way, we'll miss the ole goat when hes gone
what was the other famous one, something about getting slitty-eyed?
Hes a real charmer isn't he?
There are a few famous people Id like to have met, for their acting, like Olivier, Brando, Burt Lancaster....I did see one of my actiing heros on stage, Richard Burton (wonderful voice), Jack Nicolson...
maybe I should add ole Phil the Greek to my list? Wonder if he'll ever visit Carvoeiro?
Wonderful article on celebs in this weeks lady (7-13th)written by Helen Edwards, page 24.
A celeb in2days society means being famous 4 not doing very much at all, or being well-known 4 negative & notorious reasons. continous...
I pray that the trend 2 be famous 4 the slightest reasons will in due course run its course sooner rather than later.
