Ah yes Ellie, please do take some inside photos just for me to agonise over.
How would you and Gerry like to go fishing on the boat? Have you seen it?

Joe! Im just getting my breath back after seing your BOAT!!
For once I feel 'stumped ' for words!!!!
What a beauty! Of course I know absolutely nothing at all about boats..except recall 'rowing' one once on the Serpentine !
Of course Ill still take some internal photos for you of 'house'. I always enjoy little assignments on my hols :)
As for going fishing Joe..I confess I dont know one end of a rod from the other :?
Is your boat quite stable/smooth runner..as Ive been known to feel seasick just looking at one (no..not that bad really..and I could always take a pill :) )
Its a wonderful vessel.....have you been 'all over' in it? I guess youve sailed the ocean wide? You speak of buying/restoring place off Florida?
Im just gonna have an early glass of California Red...and drink to 'The Sagres' and all who sail in her! Cheers! :)

 If I am not mistaken that "boat" is the "Sagres" the tall ship (sailing) training vessel of the Portuguese Marine. Many countries have such magnificent training vessels, which often sail to various ports of the world for special occasions, a great sight when they all come into port together.

Hi Heini,
Well spotted. Go to the head of the class. (Front seats) Yes the "Sagres" is indeed the training vessel of the Portuguese Navy.
Some people would believe anything they are told. Especially on the internet. Both Gerry and Ellie fell for that one. In an earlier post I wrote 'my boat' instead of 'the boat' and away everyone went on the wrong tack. (tack, get it?) If I owned a boat like that I would have no trouble in buying and restoring my dream house on the hill.

Ellie and Gerry.
I couldn't resist that one. Forgive me. The nearest I have ever been to a boat was to lead a horse along a canal towpath!
Regards
Joe

Oh well done Joe!
But have to say....given the choice between a fishing trip with...shall we say..a latterday 'Walter Mitty'? and trip with boat load of Portuguese mariners....think I know which one I'd go for :P
Portuguese guys win hands down...or should I say..all hands on deck.......

So I'm a dreamer! Well, my dreams hurt nobody, not like Walter Mitty. I'm not angry at the world. I just want my place in the sun. 8)

I was wondering if there are any millionaires in or around Carvoeiro. Do the fabulous wealthy go for the CVO type of place or are they all up at Quinta del Pointo playing golf? I know one guy (I do actually, this is not another spoof.. Ask him if 'POS' means anything to him.) who had a pad there and got bored so he went back to his villa in France.
I wonder is there a bored millionaire among the 1308 guest viewers of this forum subject who would like something interesting to do?
Come on out there, someone must be interested!

P.S. I never expected our little chat would be followed by so many viewers. All bored? :(

At the risk of sounding dim'. Dalcassian, how do you tell how many
'hits' each forum post has had?

Hi Tricky,
No you are not dim. It's just that I am one of the 'Grey Surfers Brigade' who is now a self taught computer geek and can find my way around the www.
OK. here's what you look for.
Go to 'Home' on carvoeiro.com
click on 'Community'
Go down to 'Forum' and click it.
Go to 'General Carvoeiro' and click it.
Look for 'House on the hill' and see the column for 'Replies' (54) and the column for 'Views' (1323 at last time I looked).
That's how I know.
Simple eh!
Do you happen to be a bored millionaire looking for an interesting project?

No need for a ref, Ellie, you and I understand each other. It's a harmless bit of fun.
Maybe Roy4eyes knows of someone who could throw an expert professional eye over the property (unpaid of course!).
I will still continue to buy the Euro Millions Lottery ticket for the Fridays draw.
