nee, ik (we) woon (wonen) in Ferragudo en werk in Carvoeiro.
het is nogal een lang verhaal....maar we zijn o zo gelukkig om in Portugal te wonen en te werken. Een droom die waarheid werd.

 Thanks for your trust in me Ellie, I instantly grabbed a vacuum cleaner this morning but somehow it got stuck to the ceiling, the manual did not say it was only meant for floors..........hahaha. Na i Am doing ok of course. I can be of many ways of assistance: I am a great cook, I do washing very well, I am a skilled Ioner, MMMmmm cleaning isn't one of my talents but eh Oh yeah I also give nice massages.....do some serious shopping etc etc etc. Perhaps I should rent myself as a multifunctional help in the household. I charge about say 15 euro's for an hour. Good deal that is right?!

Well any bits?

Goed te horen dat jullie het zo goed naar jullie zin hebben. Portugal is een heerlijk land, ik kom er al zo'n jaar of 14.

Nederland is op dit moment koud en regenachtig zoals zo vaak.......

Veel geluk toegewenst in ieder geval!

My friend works in the UK for an international very-well-known car rental company as a driver and earns..... £3 an hour!
Kind of brings 5 euros for a cleaner into perspective.

At 15 euros Rob..the price is right....
for a man with so many talents! Well worth every Euro :)
Why are you waiting...go for it
Guest....the impression 'cool northern europeans' was perceived by some of my Portuguese friends.....
I tried to 'right' that impression...they hadnt heard of
'Love in a cold climate'
Sandy!
Then I would suggest your friend contact the Dep.of works & pensions as its against the law for anyone in UK working over 16 hours a week to be paid less than £4-80p.
Most people you find working for less are mostly illegal immigrants working 'on the lump'(illegal labour).and theres plenty to take advantage of this :x
Which takes me back to an earlier post and talk of 'slave labour'
If your friend accepts this..then in way he/she is making it worse for others....
and there is no point in having a law/minimum wage!
I kid myself I live in a democracy ,but maybe.the cleaner..the driver,.me?.should take our chances in an autocratic tax-free haven?
I back that Portuguese cleaning lady all the way..I hope she makes a mark on the 'system' and that all her cleaning mates eventually go on to be paid what theyre worth... :)
