I've never met anyone who's been there - hence 'missing-out' on its splendours. Might just go and have a look - out of curiosity

Downstairs in the jaihouse is small with a bar at the end upstairs much bigger. However I think it was built in the late sixties and appears to have the original paint and furnishings. ( don,t wear your best clothes or be too sober when you go in ).
It is an aquirred taste , and if you like the 70,s you will like it there.

I can't wait - it conjures up all sorts of images and possibilities
Re: CVO open?
I think it is worse now that the Cvo sol is closed til Feb, now there really isnt anyone here and although it is noce for it to be quiet for those of us who need to work it is pretty depressing at the moment. Yes CVO is quiet every year in the winter, however this year does seem much worse than usual and on a Sunday it is almost impossible to even buy a coffee.

Re: CVO open?
Well we arrived on Friday and was a little disappointed to find Colombo's shut for their holiday, still they work so hard the rest off the year they need to have a break.
We had a look around and yes the place is quiet, like most winters, but there are plenty of places to eat, they might not be your usual ones but that might be good as you can try ones you wouldn't have before.
All the Chinese restaurants are open, as are Maximes, A Gale, Taste, Medina, Casa Algarvia, O Patio, Vimar, and the Italian up the hill from Barclays. Chrissy's in Lagoa is open from 8th Dec - 9th Jan when it will then be closed for two weeks. There are many more open but I can't remember them all, there are also bars up the out road which are open during the day for coffee/drinks so to be honest we are not going to starve...
We are just enjoying the lovely area and the peace and quiet of it all, sat outside Sully's on Saturday lunchtime watching the traffic getting confused on the new road layout in the square, it is almost as good as people watching...

I'm sure wherever you go you will have a great time - crowds or no crowds.
Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
