 Keanosafc, we have been coming out to the Carvoeiro area for the past 5 years, for the last 4 we have always hired a car through the car hire company linked to this site, www.algarvedriver.com. They have always supplied good, clean cars which have been at a much cheaper price than the majority of car hire companies around. As we travel to the Algarve frequently ( during the autumn/winter and spring usually once a month) we found that the £49 per year to cover the excess on car hire through Insurance4carhire.com has been a great saving for us and given us peace of mind in case of an accident.

I couldn't recommend Algarvedriver.com more highly.

LJ I plan to use Algarvedriver for a few days during half term. Would you recommend paying the extra €6 a day? Will they deliver it to our address in cvo and collect from the airport?

 This is really up to you the cover will save you should you have an accident. I hate to be driving if I don't feel I am fully insured.

I believe they are happy to drop off in cvo and pick up again from the airport, but if you go on the site and email Steen he will be able to confirm this for you.

Have a nice trip. (when is half term?? Oct/Nov? My girls are now both grown up so don't have to remember things like that anymore.

We go out a week on Sunday and come back on the following Friday. So we will be in cvo on Thursday night. Perhaps we will get to meet some of you?

have just heard this morning that auto europe are refunding my excess in full no claim form, no police report, no receipts.to clarify i booked the car through them but they did not supply so am pretty sure that the door lock damage was dodgy all credit to auto europe. CHECK FOR DAMAGE VERY CAREFULLY.

I've just booked with YOR for Christmas and paid the €6 a day CDW. So why do the still want a credit card deposit?

I usually book a flight with Easyjet and scroll down to book the car with Europecar. As most of the flight have done the same this means queueing for ages at the desk underground at Faro. This year I booked with this site's hirer company - what a difference! Sat at the coffee bar in comfort to fill the forms in and then a quick hop across the road to the car.

On another subject but sticking with cars. If you fly from Brum, book on line with NCP. £63 for a week and you're in the multistory just opposite the departure door.

economycarhire.com include full excess cover in the price, which is usually reasonable.
