Be careful - flights to Seville may be a little cheaper, but you may have to pay a supplement/additional insurance for car hire if taking car out of Spain- so flying to Lisbon may be cheaper overall !!

Thanks for all the replies.

It looks as if £300 or so for the two of us. We cannot fly out before the late evening of the 22nd and must return no later than the 3rd.

Flying to Seville is no problemo, great drive only 2.5 hrs to CVO and always seems to be at least £100 cheaper. I would recommend it.
We go from Stansted to Seville with Ryanair. YOU DO NOT have to pay any extra for taking a hire car into Portugal if booked through Ryanair (they use Hertz Cars)
 cant wait for a September when we will be over again. and hopefully staying in our new villa.

I have also booked for Easter next year (at least I think it's over the Easter period!) for £151 all-in with BA from Gatwick to Faro; daytime flights :)

Air Berlin are cheap but you have to fly via Majorca !!! Otherwise we've done Monarch going out from Luton and BA coming back into Gatwick. Monarch did have 25% off at one time. Not sure if its still on. :D

Now I wish I hadn't looked - we are coming over to CVO for 10 days at the beginning of September and paid £120 each for our return flights which we reckoned wasn't bad for flights at civilised times of the day. Just looked at the equivalent flights to Seville for the same dates and they are £78 each - poses the question - how much is the extra 1 and three quarter hours car journey worth ?

Definite savings to be made if you don't mind a longer journey.
