Hi Ellie
I don't often disagree with you, but I think 'Sad' has to play the waiting game, maybe for quite a while, but I'm sure 'sad' is forgiven, its forgetting that takes a bit longer.

I'll have a drink in Columbos for you!

Just read this and don't know what the thoughtless words and actions were but sometimes 'we have to be cruel to be kind'.? If we're on the receiving end then those words etc. can indeed seem cruel at the time but usually with some passing of time we really do see that our loved ones are being kind? If the deed was done to try and help a friend then the friend will see that in time? but if the words and actions weren't for friends benefit then friend might think with a friend like this who needs enemies?
We all hopefully learn from our mistakes but if you are really serious and don't want to lose this friend then put your feelings in a letter or buy one of those friendship cards etc. post it and its then your friends decision to make-which you should respect.
Friends come and go in our lives but strange things happen in the passing of time and one day you could be on a beach on the other side of the world and find yourself lying near an older but familiar face - it has happened

These are wise words and all very true and helpful but time is of an essence.not one of us knows how long we have and each passing day can be painful.Yes words can be very hurtful, actions too. but words can also help heal .Silence isnt always golden.

Yes guest..Ive always thought a nice letter can help relieve and bring relief too..but have you thought that maybe it isnt possible for Sad's friend to write to the offended one? Circumstances etc?
Maybe this forum is the (or their) only means of communication?
why else would anyone pour their heart out here (after all this is a public place) other than the fact ,that there is no other place to go?
But in saying that..Sad's friend must feel that she/he is amongst friends here, which as most of the above replies implies, is certainly the case.
Long live the forum :)

Ok. Silence isn't golden then? So do something really dramatic which might make friend laugh so much they will forgive you? When in Cvo. we usually see the plane with advertising banner flying past - most probably costs a fortune to hire that thing but you get the drift - use your imagination and do something on a dramatic, cheaper scale? Think of something your friend has always wanted to do or really loves doing and make it happen? :P You have nothing to lose!!!

hey sad, its almost 2 weeks. This is the age of instant communication. If you've got no response, accept the inevitable. Move on and learn, and don't repeat the mistake
