Who wore Hot Pants? We wore them all the time, Skirts were that short you had to wear knickers the same colour. Good old days

Well I wore hot pants.. funny how my legs seemed 'longer' then..but just remembered I also wore a 'new shoe' out then in early 70s...quite high wedge with straps round the ankle that showed legs off to great advantage ...yes?......mini skirts too
wasnt there suddenly a rise in car collisions... with drivers not keeping their eyes on the road?

Lot of fun.. not only dress but fun music too..............dont it make you feel real longing for it now..............sigh

I remember my dear father nearly crashing the car while looking at a girl wearing hot pants and those white plastic boots

And he used to have black long hair and a long moustache - looked like a Mexican bandit

and still thinks he can fit into the same flares

Talking of those long white plastic boots ...I was trying to think who wore them on TV......wasnt it in the 'Liverbirds'.......very popular funny series....the dark haired one..cant remember their names??
Your dad with his long dark hair.& mexican moustache....wasnt there a 'detective' series with bloke who looked like that in the 70s..his name escapes me too

I hit London in Dec. of '69.

All the girls were wearing mini skirts and calf high boots.

When they went out into the cold, they wore these overcoats that reached to their ankles.

These coats were buttoned stright up the middle..

(this is the good part)

What the girls did, was leave the bottom buttons unbuttoned
(try saying that five times fast)
All the way up to Munchkin Land.

The effect was Stunning.

As you approched these girls on the sidewalk, it was what really stood out ... their Legs... they seemed to go all the way to their Chins.

(further research proved me to be in error on that point)

So, when I hear the word "London", I don't think of:

Big Ben...

Or

The Tower.

Nope, what I thiink of is Legs.

(And damned fine ones at that....you shudda been there)

Ah yes, hot pants, tiny mini skirts, long boots (mine were black) long straight hair, those were the days, I don't care what anyone says, they really were much nicer, music, fashion and life in general, than the rubbish we had to listen to in the 80's and 90's except for the oldies like Sting, George Michael etc, but they started in the 60's and 70's. It was a very good era to have lived in, my daughters can't belive the things we used to do!!
I looked out an old photo of me and the other barmaids at my parents pub back in 1969, I had the shortest skirt on, it was nearly imoral!
Those really were the days.

Remember that song 'England swings like a pendulum do'?........was it Roger Miller? and hes other one 'King of the Road'!
Course Lesley & Coop .nowadays its mainly 'bosoms' ..with evermore on show

..and what I didnt have then..I certainly make up for now

...
when you walk round now its almost like being back in .days of 'Nell Gwyn'....remember ..her and her oranges?

Ellie, if I remember rightly the Liverbird girls where Beryl and Dawn. then there was Sandra, then Carol (Elizabeth Estensen, who is Diane in Emmerdale)
