Google covered the area where I live in May, 2009, and rather like the images of the Algarve, they were getting a bit dated. I used Street View the other day to check out the image of a local business. I was surprised to find that the images have all been updated. Apparently, Google carried out another sweep of the area in September 2012, so it is a lot more relevant to the area as it is now. I must say that I thought that the organisation required to carry out these operations would mean that they wouldn't be updated for 10 years or so, but it seems that updates will be made more frequently. Hopefully, the Algarve will receive a similar update eventually, now they seem to have sorted out the legal issues in Portugal.
