We love CVO.
Re: We love CVO.
Friends of ours loved O Costello....lying in bed listening to the waves...nice little balcony & a kitchen are & very central.....can park a car round the corner by the school.
Re: We love CVO.
Well, 4 weeks today we should be sipping a drink on the terrace at Casa Luiz- assuming no fog, frost, snow, high winds, air-traffic control problems or Icelandic eruptions.
I look at the square webcam every day and am really looking forward to the visit. Probably start packing in the morning - always best to be prepared.
BTW I run a little skeptical website in the UK. I was wondering, if it is allowed, if I could put a link to it as my signature. Not sure exactly who to contact re this. Advice appreciated.

Re: We love CVO.
Just back from a week in CVO staying at Casa Luiz - the very comfortable and spacious apartment 10. The location and views were stunning. I'm preparing a short review for TA which I'll post soon.
The weather was perfect - the best we've had in 4 consecutive visits. I'm looking at the webcam in the square right now to remind me of how it looked only yesterday........

Re: We love CVO.
We stay a 45 min walk from CVO centre. Just back after a 2 week break. Home to rain and strong winds (plant pots being blown over). Oh how I wish we were back in the sun...............pass me that laptop to check flights for May!!! Glad everyone enjoys their visits.
Re: We love CVO.
smudger, I'm wondering if you stay near that nice bar on the corner where you walk down to the lighthouse - one of those beautiful villas?? Lucky you, if so. I can't remember the name of the bar but I had a very nice avocado salad with prawns and mussels....all of 5 days agosmudger wrote:We stay a 45 min walk from CVO centre. Hope nobody minds if I wander OT. You say you are from the west of Scotland. In May 2011, I visited Skye for the first time. It's a long drive from Hertfordshire, so we flew to Inverness, hired a little car, and stayed in a nice hotel in Broadford. I remember looking out of the window at the not-quite-exactly horizonal rain, which was impressive in its way. Armadale was nice, in between the heavy showers. And nostalgia isn't what it used to be......

Re: We love CVO.
Bigben, we're inland and the walk is downhill to CVO...........therefore a taxi back!!!
In addition to horizontal rain, we have lazy wind, goes through you instead of around you lol!!

Re: We love CVO.
Well, after considering Mallorca in April - Puerto Pollensa is very nice, though I've not stayed there or visited for at least ten years - we've decided to come back to CVO for the 5th time. It just hits all the targets. April 2nd is a bit early, but the Monarch flights were really cheap - from Luton. £130 pp, including one suitcase and extra legroom for two for the return journey. And we decided on the old Tivoli, with all of its well-known down-sides.
Via this forum, I have seen some of the dramatic pics and videos of the stormy weather 10 days ago - scary - but I hope the business people have managed to start the repair processes.
But we now have something to look forward to, helping to get through the UK winter, which hasn't really got going yet, I fear.

Re: We love CVO.
Well, we've just booked this year's visit to CVO - April 16th. Really looking forward to it again. And the good news for Brits is here......

Yesterday, M&S were offering a rate of €1.30=£1, if you use one of their cards. The best exchange rate for quite a long time. Might be very different by the time April comes, of course.
