sam wrote:We use Economy Car Hire. You can select car and supplier, and pay top up insurance to cover tyres, locks etc. CDW is included. Suppliers vary on out of hours times and fees, so worth checking info supplied for each supplier. Having said that as we always go for the full CDW and the top up insurance the car is not usually checked back in and have not yet paid out of hours charge.
Have just returned. Had Drive 4 Fun this time. Pick up & return at airport. The signage to P4 is not good. There are two sets of signs - one directing you in front of departures area then through road works (people in yellow jackets in attendance here) = Fairly direct route, but long walk. The other appears more direct - but it directs you through car parks where signs become even worse and involved a long bumpy trek - difficult to navigate in day time - would not like to attempt this at night.
What did Drive 4 Fun advise you about the tolls /paying them? Due to use them in a couple of weeks.

They were quite informative, and advised us on the tolls and that you could not pay on returning the car. We had options:- to not use A22; or use it and sort ourselves out on tolls; or sign a form for them to pay tolls and take money from credit card. We chose not to use the tolls so did not sign credit card slip. Used N125 without problems or delays on route from/to airport, but was after Easter and not in rush hour traffic. We saw little traffic on the A22 when it was in sight.

Sam thanks, out a week on Sunday so hopefully the N125 will be quieter than normal and happy to leave a little earlier on the return trip. I am used to their style of driving and getting more mellow as I get older

Have been speaking to Economy Car Hire who have been as helpful as they can and Drive 4 Fun were great on my last trip. I think everyone is willing to pay tolls, it's just the farce of trying to pay them that is the frustration factor.

Hi Sam-
Which Car rental Company were you with ?
You say you did not sign credit card slip... do they not request this to cover petrol, etc
Do they look for you to produce the top up insurance certificate

All sorted with YOR / Algarve Driver, my thanks to Steen and Joao for their prompt response, honesty and
assistance in reaching an amicable settlement.
A lot of other companies would just hope you go away.
Its good to see good after care sale service, something which is hard to find in the current climate.

I arrived last week on a east mids flight at 2330 booked Yor as ususal I was asked for my c card impress
But no one asked for a late fee we have never been asked before either for one ,I saw others in the que with other companies being asked for late fees
Can't fault YOR in any way last Visit the car was free for 7 days with there discount offer

Tolls don't get me started I left it to the last day to pay (one way only, came back on 125 )and the postoffices were closed so could not pay let's see what happens as I got my impress back although I won't mind a deduction if they wrote down my card details but no surcharges added as it was not my fault I could not pay
