Mike - I was due to fly on Wednesday 11th Feb - Monarch have now gone home, and are not listing a flight for Tuesday 10th either so who knows when I will be going now.

(BA, who were only £20 more expensive when I booked with Monarch are now £260 more for the two of us so I am even more annoyed than I was earlier)

That really is bad news. I don't think it's just confined to Monarch though. A bunch of mates are off to Seville this weekend via BA/Gatwick and were told last week that their flight back Sunday evening has been cancelled and they now have to do a 2 hour hack down to Malaga. I would suspect that is also due to lack of interest as it's running the following week (so far)

Is there going to be even more bad news after reading headline on todays Express - the end of cheap flights and those dreaded EU rules  :x

Faro airport should not be affected by this decision. It's only the rural airports that have been giving back handers. Mike

Deaprture Board

I have lost track of who is town during Whit half term in May? If there are a few of us, is there an appetite to meet for a jar or two in one of the favoured watering holes in the town centre?

Hi Gazza, obviously as well as the locals (lucky buggers), as far as I can make out from this version of the departure board and the last one, only you, Mike, Chislehurst and me are there Whit week from amongst the regular posters.

As you know I am always up for a bevvy, and would prefer a late one to early, after dinner drinks in a favoured watering hole!!!! But let me know what you think and come on the rest of you folks (locals too!) who else is up for it !!

You can count us in....

We are trying to arrange a few get togethers over the summer - on the escondidinho thread peterj asked for holiday dates from anyone who is interested. I have had a few replies and if anyone else is interested, let me know when you are in town and I will see when we have the most visitors and locals available for a drink. You can send a pm or e-mail me if you prefer......

Any suggestions of preferred venues?

We are easy on venue but in terms of dates we would prefer Mon or Tues or that week.

What about Anteak bar on Monday 31st then?

The first date is set :D

I'll try and be there for most of the evening so those who want to come before or after dinner can decide.

I don't promise to make much sense by the end of the evening though :?

Anyone want to suggest another week?

Well done K 'teee.
I will make a diary note to post a reminder nearer the time, and in the meantime hopefully others will read this and want to come along.

Anteak is a good choice as bearing in mind where we are staying it would be a good place for before and after dinner drinks - will only commit to "after" though as we have the oldies with us and my mum still thinks she can make comments like "gadding about all over the place, can't spend ten minutes with your parents without getting ants in your pants" etc, etc, etc - completely disregarding the fact that we have chosen to go on holiday with them and have spent all day in their company (and all yesterday and all tomorrow!!!).

Maddi :)

p.s. I appear to have come home from work today with "mother" issues. :?
