Well we will be in Columbo's as usual on New Years Eve. Pedro & Marcus usually put us in the corner, I don't know why.
Last year I was approached by a lady who asked if I was Karen Ann. I was taken aback and she said that she was a CVO member and had seen my NYE post so thought sh'ed give it a try.
It's lovely meeting people from the forum.

We also plan to eat at Columbo's on New Years Eve so hopefully we may meet up. Did not manage last year on NYE but the year before was superb. Always pay them a visit each time we are over.

Hi All
Well, we entered into the Kings & Queens theme & met up with a lively Jailhouse crowd for a good chinese ( bit early at 6.30/7.0 pm though). Great spirit everywhere in the town , but Rascals was closed , so we couldn't check them out.
Jailhouse weas great & we had best NYE for a long time....crowded , happy, lively & friendly crowd, great music. Probably saw some of you there? Sue was the Ice Queen.
If Dave hasn't sold it , will book our seats next year.
Did think that the street decorations in the town were abysmal though ....Lagoa was much better.

Glad you had a good time Geoff..sounded great

BTW, did you bump into Cleopatra? 8) She usually sits on the stairs....

Lagoa always did have good Christmas lights, going back to when we lived there.

But I have heard (from locals there) that Carvoeiro doesn't get it's share of the rates money spent on it? Anyone else heard that one?

Lagoa,s lights were very good indeed , on the new roundabouts and in the town centre.

In CVO there was a Boa Festas sign on the in road and a small neon display by the bus stop on the out road, and that was it .

Goodness it does look bleak in the square and along the beach. Wonder how one gets to the beach for a stroll, thts if one would want to with all this work being done.
Lets hope its completed soon or at least looks less like scar on the landscape or shall we say blot.
