Best bars for Xmas & New Year

We spent last New Year's Eve at the Jaihouse party at the chinese on the left at the top of restaurant hill : started a bit early, but excellent value at 25 euro pp incl beer/wine. Later on, a good night at the Jailhouse , though it's not everyone's cup of tea fortunately, or it would be even more crowded!)
Expect we will do the same this year. Only been to Colombo's once, for lunch, never again!
Can anyone confirm there will be fireworks in the square though?
