Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
It looked to me as there will be a few parking bays (disabled possibly) outside the cvo Sol and traffic will still be able to get down past the GNR station and either along the out-road or up Restaurant Hill. I may be totally wrong but that's how it looked to me.
Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
Does anyone else get the impression that the council appears to be making it up as they go along.
There are new road signs popping up all over the place.
Something else must be planned at there are posters appearing demanding an end to the roadworks for the summer.

Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
How will people be able to drive up to & down from O Bote & Monte Carvoeiro?

Can't help you there, redford. Stuck in the UK gardening. Would second your request though, for a few new photo's.
Notice from the webcam that there is a blue sign across from the shop, advising traffic to turn right. Does this mean the traffic flow on Rua do Paraiso has now been reversed?

Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
What we need is some bright spark to mark on the Carvoeiro map the new road system . . . or is it still in limbo?
Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
where's Rua do Paraiso please?
Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
The ice cream shop is on Rua do Paraiso. It is (or was) the west bay road up to Monte Carvoeiro. The plan was for it to become the down road, with Rua do Casino (past Ma-Ja's) becoming the up road. In other words, the two traffic flows reversed. The traffic flow down on to the square was to be somehow "limited". From the direction on the new sign this is to be achieved by directing traffic to drive into the ocean.
Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
The road system changed again from 7.00am this morning. I will do my best to explain
You can now come down the In road into Carvoeiro. As you come into Carvoeiro, there is now a No Entry sign at the end of the Out Road, but people were still driving into Carvoeiro down the Out Road this morning.
If you come into Carvoeiro on the In Road you can come down into the square and turn left and go up Estrada do Farol.
Alternatively you can turn left opposite the butcher using the cut through and then turn left again (you can no longer turn right here as the Out Road between here and the square is now closed!). You can then turn right to go up through Monte Dourada or carry on the Out Road out of Carvoeiro.
The Up Road to Monte Carvoeiro is now Rua do Casino. So turn right at the Post Office and go up the road that used to be the down road from Monte Carvoeiro. And yes you have guessed it the old Up Road past Rascals is now the down road from Monte Carvoeiro.
You can still not come down Estrada do Farol into the square, you are still diverted up through Monte Dourada and last week the GNR were doing spot checks on people coming down that road and issuing on the spot fines if you were not a resident.
Hope this is of some help

Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
When we look at the webcam the square looks very quiet for May, are there many visitors about
or is it quieter than usual ? perhaps it just looks quiet because there are no parked cars now. We shall
be over at the beginning of June and I am looking forward to seeing the progress so far.

We will be going there next Thursday so will try and take some photos and post them on here. Hope it's not as quiet as the webcam is showing although there will be 10 of us so we can surely liven it up a bit
