Hemmingways

Post by Rob Watson »

Having just returned from a blissful 2 week stay in Carvoeiro I feel compelled to give Hemmingways a plug.

We are regular visitors to Carvoeiro and many of it's bars (hic!) but Hemmingays is the one we always end up back at because the atmosphere is great.

They say it is the staff/owners who can set a venue apart from all the others and that is certainly the case at Hemmingways. Thanks to them (Murray, Hazel, Jo & Pat) there is always a laugh to be had and we are welcomed with open arms and service with a smile.

Special thanks to Murray for his recommendations to try certain dishes when we told him we were visiting particular restaurants (Mistral - Picanha, O Cantillo(might be spelt wrong) - Lamb Dhansak) his recommendations were spot on! :D

Give this bar a try when you next visit  If you don't know where it is it's on Rua Do Barranco (the 'out' road) virtually opposite Oasis restaurant.

I wish them continued success and can't wait to get back to Carvoeiro in September!

Yep my Gary always ends up watching football there and I just love the chunky toasted sandwiches and a good slurp of chilled white wine mid afternoon. Wish I was there now instead of at work in a stuffy office trying to sneak 5 mins on this site
