theres a nice cocktail garden and a bar at monte carvoeiro; the bote disco on the beach (its not great so dont keep your hopes up!) - during the summer theres a foam party every wednesday. If you can I'd try albufeira or praia da rocha if you're more into clubbing, although there are usually loads of young tourists about wherever!

Hi Emma
There is a club in town called a bote, which is nice but small, foam parties were on a wednesday night last summer,i went was brillant fun,in semarias, collina da lapa have a nice bar with quizs and karoke etc, also down in ferragudo you have a few late night bars etc and also praia da rocha which is the main place with loads of clubs,i have been in katheral its quiet good,im looking forward to saturday then im going over for the summer, maybe bump in to you guys for a drink when your over there..mark
I visited in June with some friends for a 'tennis' weekend. We had a great time and one night started at Brady's Irish Bar, followed by Mungos then the Bote disco. We staggered out at 4.30 to find the area desolate with no taxis in sight. To our amazement (and relief) a car drove past then stopped and reversed - it was Dan, the bar manager from Mungos. He gave us a lift all the way back to our apartment in Rocha Brava - what a great guy. There was also an excellent singer in Mungos called Ilzie who is worth a listen.
