Portuguese Car Tax Renewal

Does anyone know what the procedure is to renew car tax when you are in another country with a Portuguese car? We may have our Portuguese car in the UK in June, when the tax becomes due and we wondered if you can purchase it in advance?

Hi Avvie,
This happened to me last year. I left my 'livrete' document and a copy of my passport and a copy of my Fiscal number with a friend in Portugal and they renewed it for me at the Junta de Fregueisia in Carvoeiro when it became due

You can do it on line and have the "stamp" posted to your Portuguese address.
