 Hi Digger, just reading this thread through and saw that you mentioned being in Shepherds Bush, just down the road from my eldest daughter who is in 'Poets Corner' in Acton. Hope you had a great Christmas and a good New Year.

It has been cold, wet and windy in Somerset for so long now it really would be nice to have just one sunny day..... :?

yeah, we wanted to buy in Fulham but it’s got too expensive and after looking in Shepherds Bush, Action W4 & W5, we decided to the Bush really because it’s a little more central. A wise move :?

I’ve always thought Acton a bit of a dump but recently discovered some nice parts. 'Poets Corner'? is that near Acton Park?

and what do you think of this?

Happy New Year to you and yours Ellie - and once again 'Lang may your lum reek'

We have had really lovely weather over Christmas and New Year - don't recall it as hot as that but warm and comfortable enough to sit out Christmas day after lunch and bbq new years day, just been for a walk with dogs and it's a beautiful morning! Evenings still get chilly when the sun goes down but that gives us an excuse to put the log fire on.

 Yes digger Acton used to be a really rough place, some parts still are but 'Poets corner' is north off the High St/Churchfield road area, most of the houses which are Victorian have been converted into flats and the area is really nice, feels quite safe. For my daughter it is the ideal place as the rents are not so high as closer to town and the quality of property much better than some areas, she can get into town for her work very easily (she works just off Tottenham Court Rd) She has lived there for three years now, albeit in different flats.

She knows the Shepherds Bush/Acton area very well now. I think that there are so many areas in London which used to be 'rough' which are being totally re-vamped, then prices go up and people cant afford to buy there anymore. Allie would love to be able to afford to buy a place of her own, maybe one day........ Publishing does not pay that much I am afraid.
