Good Supermarket Wines

A nice Vinho Verde is the one with the blue label which looks like lace on it, Casal Garcia, it is about 2.65 euros from the supermarkets. Also we like the red, white and rose wine called Alandra the lable has holes cut into it to look like a bunch of grapes again only about 2 - 3 euros a bottle.

We will look for these wines at the Intermarche when we shop there. Does anyone else have any good recommendations of wines that can be purchased in CVO? We have bought local wines before and have been disappointed. We love wine so it would be great to find a good one

Well after all the replies, I did jot down the names recommended, but like a (plonk)er didn't take the list with me!!! Wasn't allowed on the plane cos it related to liquids!! But we did try Casal Garcia Vinho Verde as Jean said The wines I recommended were the cheaper end of the market but very good 'breakfast wines' we like really light, easy drinking wines. Each to their own on this one I think. Wink really enjoyed that one at lunchtime, Breakfast a bit too early for us Will take recommednations with us next time we go to CVO. but please lets keep this thread running.

hehe glad you had a good trip and enjoyed some of the wines, when I say 'breakfast wine' I don't mean we start drinking at breakfast time I meant that we like light wines that are easy to drink as fruit juice in the morning....does that explain it very well???? probably not.... we went to a friends house in France once and their neighbour makes his own wine, there we had a very, very light wine that he did drink for breakfast.... hence the saying... hehe
