is there any vine yards close by that I can visit during my stay and sample some wine tasting?

Here I've heard only bad about the wine though.

Maybe he sings to the vines.

Yes, there is the one in Lagoa and one just past the BP gas statio,before the Penina Hotel, you turn right to Senhora do Verde, then is just there on the right about 500 meters ahead.

Do you mean the co-operative of Lagoa Manuel?
The sister of a Lagoan friend of mine is a manager and they have tours & wine tasting there but sorry I dont have a phone number.

We Went to Cliff's place, very good tour, and wine tasting afterward...

We think the wine is really quite good

Kind find it in guia just behing the Algarve shopping centre, but you do have to book.
