By the way the standard Notarial fee per Will is €191,60 not €5 as Bazza mentioned

Last year, my total fee for two wills, including solicitor, notary, witnesses etc, was 683 euros. I was told by several people whose opinions I trust, that it is better to have a Portuguese will, in addition to an English one, and I feel it's better to be safe than sorry. The idea is to minimize the hassle for one's loved ones at a time when they least need it, and even though it might be expensive in Portugal, the cost is worth it in my opinion.

bazza wrote:hi guest had two wills done in uk April 2003 cost £385 thro a solicitor but these were a bit more complex. this is more or less 560 euros. which is why i thought i was ripped off. But hey this is Portugal never be suprised!
HI
We also have uk wills that cost about the same as yours but we were told not to include our portugese property and to make seperate one in Portugal so looking at the different replies I guess we can expect to pay up towards a 1000 euros for a will.
