Winter opening

I know this has been asked before about Christmas & New Year, but we are thinking about coming out for a break in Jan/Feb. I would guess that some restaurants must take a break at some point during the winter, but does anyone have any idea how many will still be open at that time. I presume the supermarkets etc open all year round.
