very interesting programme on channel 4 this evening about selling property in spain (read portugal)..you can read more by going to channel 4 website and looking to homes section.

dont know whether its a series..but certainly if your selling in portugal its worth viewing

Thought as usual it was typical headline TV.

Apart from the land grab issue ( not relevant to portugal ) all it said was if you want to sell your house make sure that it appeals to the buyer.

This is the same in any market any country and surprise surprise estate agents earn a lot of money by doing very little.

Didn't see the programme and haven't had a chance yet to look at the website. Not sure if you would term it "land grab" in the same way as what went on in Spain and I actually don't know the whole story about Spain and that issue but people should still be careful here when buying property with land. I have come across one or two cases where 2 properties had been built on the same plot, then sold to 2 different people, who thought that they each had their own plot. The land hadn't actually been legally split. One property was land locked by the other, which owned the land. There is also the possibility of bits of land being chopped off at the time of sale without the new owners realising and held back to sell on to someone else.

Once again you have to be on your guard.
