If life in the algarve is so difficult why are so many ex pats living or planning ( incl us ) to move there.

I am beginning to wonder if all these negative coments are just a front to discourage any one new joining the party.

There are lots of positives to living here - for most people (like us) they outweigh the negatives, but at times, only just!

You can never have any idea of what it is like to live here - doesn't matter how long you have been visiting, and how often you come - until you are actually here. It's a completely different attitude and mentality that takes some getting used to - especially if you plan to work or run a business.

Better to take all the opinions on board and be prepared, that way you should have a better chance of a successful relocation.
