Christmas 2005

Post by Guest »

I was looking to come out with my partner this Christmas (23rd Dec for one week). Although I'm a regular each year in the summer months I don't know how much is open as far as bars and restaurants are concerned during this period. Any feedback would be appreciated.

A lot of the bars and restaurants will be open over Christmas and New Year - some close mid Nov-mid Dec then stay open, others close mid Jan-mid Feb, some stay open all through and a few close for 2 or 3 months.

Your favourites might not be open, but there is still plenty of choice - the weather can be great too, although the nights are cold. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Hi 'guest' We usually come to cvo threee times a year during the summer and last year we were lucky enough to visit for christmas too. The carvoeiro bar is open and with all the windows and doors shut its lovely and cosy and has beautiful decorations up too. The steak house is open and the boys have plenty of time to say hello cos they're not too busy-- but it was pleasantly full. Chef Antonios was open and the food was great but because its big you'll need a warm jumper-especially when you visit the loo! The places in the square are still serving outside and we sat one afternoon til the sun went and it was beautiful. Sully's is lovely and cosy, Via Italia is too. Round Up is great as ever and much more comfortable than when its heaving! Hope you have a great time--and remember you have to give your presents out on Christmas eve after a big cataplana with the family. :wink:oooh- and dont forget to go to Havana Bar too, big cosy armchairs and lovely owners.
