Motorway Charges - any updates
A few weeks ago there were newspaper articles and various postings here about the prospect of visitors being charged to use the motorway in a year or so. I read on this forum of protests that were due to be staged etc. Did these protests happen and is there any update about the subject please?
The latest as I understand it is:-
The protest action (a slow convoy on the EN125 to show that it is not a viable alternative to the motorway) happened on 12th November and there are loads of banners and posters protesting in various places.
BUT, since President Sampaio started a process to dissolve parliament and call elections a week or so ago (possibly for February I think) the protest groups are holding off as the legislation imposing the tolls is likely to be held up until after any election and if the exisiting government are not re-elected maybe it will even not happen.
Anyones guess for the moment
