Visited there last evening, they are rebuilding the beach bar. The beach is not too bad, the west end is at it was.

They seem to have left a large flat rock "shelf" perhaps it is a solarium?!

It really isn't that bad and a good winter storm will soon sort it out!

I have some pictures I will post via Steen

Thank you all for the replies.

Does anyone know if there is a supermarket handy in this area for day to day things like bread. I appreciate that there is the Intermarche but may just want a few essentials from time to time (like emergency supplies of wine and beer if we run out).

Supermarkets

What area are they staying. There are many smaller supermarkets in and around Carvoeiro. Intermarche is good as you can get the lot but it is a bit dearer - so Mrs Biffa says.

This won't be a problem, if you face the sea and look to your left there is a road that runs up the hill, take the LH fork and before you get to the back of Rocha Brava, you will find a parade of bars and very good restaraunts and two supermarkets.
