Carvoeiro in December?
Hi all, we have been to Carvoeiro many times, at different times of the year, but never in December. We have decided to do that this year... we arrive in the 8th and can't wait!
I read on Margharida's newsletter that there was a Christmas market in the square last year - is there anything planned for this year?
Are many of the restaurants closed in December?
Does anyone know if A Rede is open (our favourite)?
I imagine the place has a different feel close to Christmas - any advice and/or suggestions greatly appreciated.
Tilly x

I talked with Carlos at A Rede the other night and he says he will be open during December.

Re: Carvoeiro in December?
We arrive 8 December. too.
It's usually quite warm - but not hot. Can be cold at night, though. And it might rain . . . but we had rain in June once (told it hardly ever happens!).
It isn't crowded like in the summer months so it's easier to get around and see stuff.
Not all restaurants/bars are open but there's enough to give you plenty of choice.

We were out last Christmas and the weather was lovely. Felt a bit silly in my Christmas present Ugg boots - the waitress at Rascals was in flip flops! Had Christmas Eve at Villa Medici which was fabulous

Just a word of warning we have our friends from sweden staying with us for Christmas.
The last time they came for the holiday it rained almost non stop for weeks ( many will remember that winter ).
If the weather is not up to expectations I will supply their email address so that you can direct your complaints to them.

EMM, please PM their details. I might need it for insurance purposes. It's nice to know where the blame lies.
btw, they weren't there a few years back in June 2006 were they? REFERENCE
