3 bedroom villa accommodation in Carvoeiro for August

Post by Tony Knight »

For the past two years we have been fortunate enough to spend two weeks holiday in delightful Carvoeiro.

This year however, all of our concentration and effort has been spent in arranging a belated 40th birthday surprise visit to Carvoeiro for our daughter. A trip to Ireland was originally booked for September last year, but sadly had to be cancelled with our young granddaugther requiring a hip operation, followed by three months in plaster. Happily, we are coming to Carvoeiro on 4 May (sadly only for a week), but no longer will it be a surprise - apparently women have to know what and how many clothes to pack!! So the true destination had to be revealed.

As a result, since we have now left it so late, a further visit to Carvoeiro later in the year has been extremely difficult to book, due to there being very little accommodation available and rather expensive flights. The working members of the family have booked two weeks from 3 August, but since flights dictate we may have to be flexible and think about flying midweek (Wednesdays seem to be the cheapest option).

Does anybody know of anything that might be suitable?

In the meantime, we are keeping our fingers.

I would like thank all those subscribers who contacted me in our search for suitable accommodation for my family in Carvoeiro in August. Happily,we have now managed to make a booking. We will now have to look at car hire. Whilst my wife was trawling the web looking to book this holiday, she came across a website for Zcars car rentals. Their prices seem to be very reasonable. Has anybody used them?

Any comments will be appreciated.

I wondered how long it would be before I had this sort of response. You're obviously referring to Brian Blessed, who was one of the characters on BBC's Z Cars, which was in black and white TV, so you're showing your age now Smudger!!! Seriously though, there is a car rental company of this name whose agents are Star Villa holidays, and they're on the search engine as zitauto.co.uk.

Ooops!!!! Sorry, the response to my post was from Laserblazer. I must be overjoyed at finally making that holiday booking. However, the reference to age might still apply!!!!

We have used Zitauto many times and always had excellent service, booked them again for our next visit.
They don't require a deposit or card details just cash on arrival.

It was revolutionary for its time. I'll stick with Algarvedriver.com and support this website. There may be better deals but if you use them a lot and get the bonus points, I doubt it.

travelrent are good. Try the one on the forum through Steen too. You were fortunate to get a place in August. Holiday lettings has lots of villas and is part of trip advisor. One for the future. If you managed to get a reasonable villa in August below £1300 you did REALLY well. see you are off today, have a great time. 8)
