Come on you lot!!
Come on you lot!!
My wife and I are running the Royal Parks half marathon in London on Sunday October 7th, in aid of the Prostate Cancer Carity. I know that many of us contributed to recent posts on prostate cancer, but it still falls well behind other high profile cancers, when it comes to symptom awareness, and quality of diagnosis. Having lost my dad to this terrible (and potentailly hereditary) disease, I want to do my bit to help raise the profile, and hopefully some money to boot.
If you feel willing and able to make a contribution, then any donations will be greatly received. The link is as follows:

As I spent half of my summer running up and down those bloody hills between ADM and Club Atlantico, then I feel I deserve some support

Done, good luck with the run, my eldest has done this a few times now and it is a lovely run and a great venue. I hope you get to raise your target.

Let's get this right! You and your lady wife are going on a charity run and only Lesley Jean here has made a very generous contribution here on this forum?
In the past people have generously contributed via that Chit Chat section of this website.
Ask the moderators to please move this request to Chit Chat. I am in the middle of changing bank accounts so I will make a donation guaranteed next week.
What is the name of that Boxer sitting next to you?

Hi James, many thanks for your post, and kind commitment of a donation. The boxer was caled Millie, and came to Carvoeiro with us many times before she died. A very quirky and beautiful dog, who has been sadly missed by all in the family, especially my retriever, as they were unseparable from six weeks old.James Faro wrote:Let's get this right! By the way, the dog was sat next to my dad in the photo, and he sadly died from prostate cancer 18 a couple of years ago, hence the cause we have adopted for our chosen charity. Many thanks again.

Done! I wish you and your lady wife the best of luck on that gruelling 13 mile long run.
Your dad would be so proud of you and will be with you in spirit on the big day; as will be Millie running along with you, What a wonderful pet she must have been.
Take care,
James

Fantastic James, thank you so much for your very generous donation. "Dad, Millie," the wife and I will all do our best to get through the 13 miles without incident, and we'll let you know how we do!James Faro wrote:Done! Dear All,
We managed to complete the Royal Parks Half Marathon yesterday in times of 1hr 50 mins, and 2hrs 2mins respectively. It was quite a challenge, as we were both carrying injuries, but nonetheless, we made it. The weather was beautiful, and London looked resplendent in all it's glory.
Many thanks to all those who very kindly sponsored us, and for those who still wish to do so, then it isn't too late, simply follow the link below:

It looks like we've raised around £7k for the Prostate Cancer Charity, so a good job done. Once again, many thanks to those who very kindly donated to this very worthy cause.

Re: Come on you lot!!
I can just imagine the smell of burning rubber from both of you and your lady wife's trainers after that gruelling run.
Congratulations and for raising a huge amount of money for such an important cause.
