Recommendations for getting engaged in Carvoeiro

Post by rossp »

Hi all, I was wondering if you could help me out. My family has booked a week’s stay in Carvoeiro form the 31st May to the 7th June 2012 (not far away now). We will be coming from Australia and I am planning on asking my lovely partner to marry me while we are there.

I want to make it special and romantic so I wanted to know if any of you have recommendations of where and how I could pose the question (we have been together for 13 years now and have a 7 year old daughter so it’s probably about time :D ).

I wanted to pop the question on Saturday 2nd June in a restaurant, on the beach or somewhere picturesque and romantic.

Would any of the restaurants in Carvoeiro do a special table for 2 on the beach or on the cliffs?

Congratulations, sounds a great idea. The Beach and Restaurant are about 15 minutes West of Carvoeiro and would be an ideal location. Say Hi to Aus for us, just love that country.

Hi

I agree Restaurant Rei das Praias would be perfect. If you really want to push the boat out you can have the question posed on a flying banner behind a light aircraft and they will do a fly past!!!!

From Aus to Portugal, then a marriage proposal, certainly making a big job of it, use a helicopter, it can make smaller circles.

I am not a fan of Rei dos Praias. I think the food is merely ok and it is spendy.
How about having a catered affair on a secluded beach? Or going on a sunset cruise (captained sailboat) with a cook etc for something special?

I completely agree with the Majority, Canieros beach restaurant has the loveliest setting in Carvoeiro and if you make sure you tell them what's happening when you book they
will really look after you. They made our 25th wedding anniversary really special. If you want to push to the boat out, stay the night at their 'boutique hotel just up the hill
they do very good accomodation and dinner packages at the restaurant.

Thank you all for the recomendations. It has been very helpful. Based on the majority I think I am going to go for Rei das Praias. I have contacted them to make the booking so the wheels are now in motion. Let's hope she says YES :-). Thank you all once again.

Hope you're not rushing into things lad! I'll bet she wouldn't give a damn where you proposed after 13 years waiting as long as you've come up with the idea, take her to Chicken George's and do the business.
You sound like an impetuous individual to me so it's got to be a surprise to her, and your families. :D
