Chat Up !

Post by Ellie »

Reading Guest 's sweet post 'I Miss Carvoeiro'got me thinking about this.
Wondering what the 'chat up ' lines are today?
Course I realise girls are far more confident today and that they will often make first move :)
Im trying to remember exactly what 'the line ' was in the 60s..know I was always at dance halls..suppose it was 'fancy a dance'..'wanna dance' ..
Met H at one..he never danced.... said he just liked watching my legs(mini skirt era)
Think his famous opening line was " See ya home darling?"...
or words to that effect.....
My answer? "No! Im with me mates !"
I was interested in reading about the Portuguese fellas 'flicking stones' to get the girls attention..
What chat up lines are used nowadays...is it harder for men..with the confident young ladies of today?
Do different countries do it differently..are there stricter rules in some, for the 'mating game'? :)

Guy: "How would you like your eggs in the morning?"

Girl: "Unfertilized, thank you..."

are we near an airport or is that just my heart taking off?!
you remind me of a parking ticket - you've got fine written all over you!
you remind me of a compass - i feel lost without you.

because they are so corny you have to say them in a joking fashion - hopefully then the girl realizes you are just messing about but at least it gets you talking to the girls.

…yes Ellie I remember as a teenager in the 60’s there was quite a lot of “my mate fancies your mate” pretty pathetic really….
...and, it's probably the same for the kids today: get a car and a driving licience asap and you are popular... 8)

Is that a ladder in your tight or the stairway to Heaven.

Here's 10p, go and phone your mum and tell her you're not coming home tonight.

Aren't your legs tired? You've been running through my mind all evening.

Damn they are bad!

Or from the song "If I said you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me?".

Regards to all in CVO.

Haven't been out this year - what sort of season has it been?

That sounds positively GOTHIC Gerry!
Are all Irish men that romantic? :?
Try this one lads:
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May
And summer's lease hath all too short a date
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines-----and so on
But thy eternal summer shall not fade..
(Willie's words..sonnet no.18
No?
Today its more likely to be:
"Great pair of t*ts youve got there. Can I help you home with them?"
  just comparing the two---
