Re: Suggestion Box Praia do Carvoeiro
I would suggest the following improvements:
1) As mentioned, remove the graffitti. Once a site is tagged, it must be painted immediately or like a bunch of dogs, other taggers will come and mark the spot. In addition, I would suggest catching the one person who seems to put his/her tag on everything. The place isnt that big and a little investigative work would solve this problem.
2) Consistent signage throughout Lagoa and Carvoeiro. There are now 3 or more directional signs different types of signs throughout the area. Replace these with decent looking signs that compliment the area. Fine and remove advertising signs that have been placed on public property without permission. For those who want advertising signs, they should pay a fee to the town council and then use a consistent format.
3) Standardize how shops, restaraunts, bars, etc..should look. Some type of common zoning requirements. For example - all awnings and umbrellas should be green or tan canvas without any advertising other than the name of the establishment. Downtown Carvoeiro is just plain tacky. As you have all mentioned, cheap plastic chairs with low quality beer logos plastered on everything. Give bars, restaraunts, and shops 2 years to comply or fine them.
4) Put in a community green garden waste recycling center. At the moment gardners just dump green waste around the neighborhood or in the trash bins. Have a centralized facility where it can be dropped for free. Then chipped and shredded and sell the mulch and composte back to the residents at reasonable rates.
5) Repave all of the roads. Some of the roads are in bad shape. Particularly Carvoeiro Clube.

For " Pato the Post ", good news the broken ones have all been replaced.
Re: Suggestion Box Praia do Carvoeiro
hardly anyone sits on the 'benches' in the square (from the chemist around to Carvoeiro Sol). my suggestion: take out the benches - too close to traffic anyway. in the centre between the current two rows of benches/planters install back to back seating with proper back support. only my opinion but I think lots of people would sit and relax that tiny bit further away from traffic and with something to lie back on. also know it will never happen
Re: Suggestion Box Praia do Carvoeiro
I agree the seats are in the wrong position, too close to the traffic and not very comfortable.

Re: Suggestion Box Praia do Carvoeiro
It is impossible to relax on such seats. Lincoln High Street had most of its benches replaced with backless benches and now they are hardly used.joeysoap wrote:.... install back to back seating with proper back support ....
