my little red car

i asked today at my local garage about p.x on my little red car (which i bought from them new)..they said...mmmmm...aaahhh...it is a problem because red cars are not popular in portugal...apparently red used to fade as a colour and people still remember the problem.

pity they didnt mention the problem when i was buying it new

reminds me of when a friend in cambridge went into a local "A DALEY GARAGE" with a Triumph sports car to sell second hand....."aaaah sir " said the salesman " these convertibles arent very popular now...but if you had bought the drophead..well maybe we could have helped...sorry"

so he went back to the office dejected and told the story to his colleagues
one of his office mates said he would go to the same garage and ask what was the position...so he went in the next day and spoke to the same salesman.and asked whether he had any truimph sports car convertible for sale?.
"Ooooooooooh sir..there like gold dust sir ..if i had a showroom full of em id sell every one"

Garages appear to be staffed by liars. We've just sold the in laws car for them. The garages we rang all said, 'Ah they don't sell well secondhand' , 'We can't get much for them without power steering' and an assortment of other excuses to bring the price down. We advertised in a local paper and sold it for what we wanted in a few days. I mean, if the Portuguese are so against red, why did the garage stock it?

aahhh sir it was popular then but now,...they so hard to shift..you see sir if you had bought the silver one..thats the colour every one wants.now
