A Vela was disappointing this year, the food wasn't as good, no Irish band & there weren't as many people, not the same buzz at all. However we had a really good time the group of friends we were with were all excellent fun, we drank a lot & laughed a lot, we saw the New Year in at Hemmingway's & then on to Safari, which I'm afraid was a bar too far for me. Woke up about 9am in some considerable pain & spent New Years day with other casualties from the night before nursing my sore head & wondering how many hairs of the dog that bit me I would have to get through before I felt better. Lots of fun on New Years eve & New Years day, spent with friends old & new, which is how I best like to spend it. :D

We found everywhere quiet this year there just wasn`t the visitors around, all the Hotels were
closed in Carvoeiro except for the Bai Chrystal and on New Years Eve I think you could have
walked into almost any restuarant without booking which is very unusual.
