International School of the Algave EIA Porches

Post by SharonODubai »

Recently I visited the school and liked what I saw, BUT I have heard bad reports on this forum, BUT they were a few years old now, is there ANYONE our there with something possitive to say about it.

Many thanks

hello Sharon,

we've had 2 sons there for the past 8 years and overall can't complain about it;

pluses; the class sizes are quite small, the teachers are all nice, the level of education is more than good enough and our boys seem generally to go out laughing & come home laughing

minuses; our main gripe is the almost total lack of sports, there's PE and the play football at lunchtime but there's nothing organised; my wife is a tennis nut so the boys go to Carvoeiro Clube de Tennis where they play with all their friends & have tennis lessons

lots of folk have left the school in the past 2 years because of the crunch which is goof for class numbers but it means the odd good teacher has left

happy to help with any other info

The school was recently featured in the Algarve Resident newspaper for excellent O and A level(or equivalent) examination results. If you go to their website it should be featured in their archives section etc.
