It was many years ago, when I was young, naive and new to the forum that I agreed to meet with Mike for lunch at Smilers.
He emailed me to let me know that "JanetO" would also be attending.
I knew her simply as another poster on the forum, so it was doubly enticing, but had not realised the relationship at the time.

After a lovely 2 hours, and a few beers, Mike very generously offered to pay for the lunch, and it was only when he reached into her handbag for some cash, that the penny dropped and so much of the preceding conversation fell into place

Wonderful memory; he will be missed, and my sincere condolences to Janet.

Sad news and my thoughts are with his family.

I have 'known' Mike C since January 2003 and will miss his wit and wise words on here.

RIP
