Places to eat

Post by Rossi's idol »

Would anyone be kind enough to identify nice places to eat in the Monte Carvoeiro area?
Any information would be very welcome.
Thankyou.

Have a stroll up to the 'Ritz' or to L'Orange and I believe there are a few other eateries enroute. Or stroll down to the village and taxi it up hill.
However around Monte CVO there are lots to choose from. The snack bar poolside daytime is pretty good too.

I really like O Salmao in Monte Carvoeiro and usually have my nicest meals there - the lamb stew is always a favourite. We also liked the Indian restaurant,Taj Mahal, which I believe has closed - a shame as we ate there twice in one week last year.

You could take a walk to Quinta do Paraiso and eat at the Italian there and then have drinks at the pool bar, perhaps.

The stone steak place (Fernando's?) is fine for a steak (as the name suggests!) and I've also had swordfish there which was good.

Never eaten in Phoenix Nites myself, but my in-laws ate there every night during their visit and they loved it.

The Cocktail Garden bar good cocktails and they also give out little puzzles for you to have a go at. They're very friendly and that makes it a good place to have a drink and watch the kids run round the fountain (or put one trainer'ed foot right in as my son did one year..........)
