Cocktails anyone!

Not sure where to put this topic (restaurants??) anyway we visited Bar Talvez for a cocktail or three and after our usual warm welcome from Sergio and Rachel, tasted some really great cocktails. The Dakaries and Whiskey Sours are to die for. Sergio has def. perfected the old wrist action there on the shaker. Really great tasting and good prices too.
I must say these are our favourite cocktails and we've tried a few.

The only other cocktail bar we also love is the Inside Bar (just around the corner from our apartment, so too handy by half) , great tasting cocktails, great fun to chat too, always happy to help with decisions.

I really like the Inside Bar, great Cosmopolitans, the staff couldn't be nicer, there's usually quite a few people in there & a good atmosphere. It's always very late when I go there so don't know what it's like earlier in the evening.

We like the Innside Caffe too great cocktails and much too convenient when we are in Carvoeiro to pop in for a nightcap. Great Caipirinha and Gin Fizz'zz. Someone told me they do a mean orange caipirinha

we tend to go early in the evening before the younger ones start to party (always like a pre-dinner cocktail at around 6:30pm and they do happy hour ) but this time been trekkin' up to Bar Talvez and it was a welcome change.

Yes sometimes we go early too...at our age there are times when our nightcap coincides with Happy Hour

I love the decor and ambience in Bar Talvez. I wandered in early one evening alone as I was waiting for someone else to get ready and didn't want to sit around doing nothing. I didn't want to leave after three strawberry Daiqui's (or however you spell them !)

It's Bar Havana for me and my wife early evening; 2 for price of 1; nice place with chilled out music for pre-dinner drinks.
Or, if we decide to stay in Monte Carvoeiro for the evening (that's where our accomodation is), it has to be The Cocktail Garden, with the great host and professional cocktail guy, Luis.

Absolutely agree with all of the above, all top class bars - my comments were solely regarding convenience for us when we're at our apartment and having an aperitif or a nightcap

Agree all of the above, but Cheers is great too and giving them 24 hours notice a superb meal can be provided, we had a fab meal they did for us and we always have one of our early evening drinky poos there en route to wherever
