Will the Square be sorted out by September?
Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
Thanks for the superb video, even liked the musak. Ithink they have done a marvellous job in the time span and all our fears are much removed.
Itake back my winge re the canopies over the cafes etc in the square, they are far more suitable for those requiring shade in the searing heat and sun.
Many thanks for the viideo

Thanks for the video - still looks as though a lot of work still to be completed ???
Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
I am so sorry if you think I look confused. It was a pleasant morning and I thought I would just take a short flight down to the beach area to see what the other species were up to.
Quite frankly the rate of progress has amazed both myself and a number of my feathered friends - if we took this long to build our nests there wouldn't be anywhere for us to live nor any new birds for that matter.
Also, may I point out to the person who was making the very interesting video that at no time had I, or my fine-feathered agent, been contacted and/or asked about 'performing rights' and the usual fees etc. However, as this appears to be some form of Public Information Film we are both prepared to waive our normal charges - although a small slice of fine wholemeal bread is always most acceptable.
This posting is being made in lieu of a posting that would have been made by a 'human' friend of my acquaintance who may not be able to come down and see myself and my family as he has fallen on hard times as a result of mis-management by a number of his fellow humans - he refers to them as something like 'Bankers'! He tells me that his normal twice yearly visits have to be held over until such time as his small emolument becomes larger [whatever that means].
Anyway, even us Seagulls have a view and I might land once in a while to pass a comment - but for now, must fly

Okay, carvoeiro square building workers!
I'm coming on Thursday and expect the square to be finished.
I've been patient and it stops now! I want to walk along the paths, enjoy the trees
and sit outside O Barco (is it open yet) and I don't want to get brick dust in my ice cream!
You have been warned.

Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
We have just got back from our first walk into town on this trip.
A great deal of progress has been made but it stil looks like there are another 2-3 weeks before this phase is finished.
The bottom end of the olf in road is almost complete with just a small area of surface and the granite edging blocks to complete.
If we understand it corrcetly the only parking now will be a few places for disabled motorists outside of the Irish times.
Co incidentally there is a very good feature about Carvoeiro in this months Good life,
Included is a report on the works woth a statement that they have taken out at least 100 parking spaces from the towm centre ( not enough ).
It also regrets that more buildings did not have underground parking as part of their planning permission.

Re: Will the Square be sorted out by September?
An artical in The Resident quotes the VP of Lagoa Camera saying the square and the in-road will be complete in 10 days time (from 16th April). But he's the guy that said they would be finished by 9th April. Don't see any sign of trees, with so little time to go. Maybe they will come back and dig large holes in the new square so that they can plant them.
