Prague, Torquay Utd and Other Stuff!!
Prague, Torquay Utd and Other Stuff!!
Taken me a while to decide to brave this place again but having sent Dawn here from another website and watch you all be so wonderful with her I thought the bogey men must have gone away
Prague was amazing, absolutely beautiful, the buildings are so ornate and the interiors of the churches simply breathtaking. Charles Bridge was a delight and we spent a hour or so idling along it whilst amazing street performers did their stuff, we especially loved an "aged" jazz qaurtet who were awesome. The whole city was a picture and dead cool to boot and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. One of the nights we went out at 7.30pm and ate smoked salmon starters and steaks and then drank and drank including 18 Jack Daniels (poured freehand
) until 3.30 am and the bill for the four of us was £70. A simply magical city.
There is a good chance that Torquay Utd could be in the third division play offs on Monday 31 May which clashes with our visit to the Anteak Bar, my son is devastated
that we shall be CVO as last time Torquay reached the playoffs we were in Cala D'Or so couldn't go to the match, he thinks we are now doing it on purpose (guess we are as the playoffs are always over the Whit Bank Holiday weekend although we would have loved to have gone to the match too!!).
I see that Dawn decided that CVO wasn't for her, I did a direct comparison for her on the other website to Petra, Lesvos which she loved and I personally think that CVO is more picturesque and certainly has better places to eat and nicer beaches, perhaps it was when I said you couldn't snorkel or maybe that there are bars called Smilers, Jailhouse, etc. All-in-all I think it was the number of developments that put her off, I did try to tell her that it wasn't like Vilamoura and it did still have masses of local character but I guess that wasn't enough - anyway I would have hated for her to come to CVO and it be the wrong place for her
.
