How easy is it to Bus it from Faro Airport to the village

Post by Jon »

Hello, just booked a week away at the Almansor Hotel at the beginning of April, couple of questions. Is it possible to bus it from the airport to Carvoeiro? If so could someone please provide details - bus numbers etc. The area looks gorgeous and it will be our first visit to Portugal. When do the bars etc open for business...will it be quiet at beginning of April and finally - any indication on weather? what's it like at mo?
ps excellent website....good info

Hello there,

If it's your first time in Portugal, you will love it.

As far as I know, the weather is quite nice at the moment (around 25C).
Bars are open and so are most restaurants.

Not sure about the buses but I'm sure someone will get back to you on that.

Thanks thunderbolt for your reply.
I have done a bit of surfing and mailed www.terrenotours.com and it costs 50 euros to the hotel from the airport. Rather bus it and get a feel for the local geography...and it's a hell of a lot cheaper

I am actually dead jealous because I'm not going out there until May! But I'm counting the days... 52 to be exact.

I'm sure it will. It's only for the week-end but I'm back in June for 2 weeks.

Honestly, you will love it. It's a fantastic place.

I can confirm the weather is fab here at the moment.

Re weather - someone on this forum recently recommended www.calle.com website - it gives forecast cloud cover, temp and rain for the next week - excellent !

Look under World Index, Portugal, District of Faro, Carvoeiro then ask for detailed info.

PS You'll love Carvoeiro !

Hello Jon,

Just to clarify the situation with regard to travelling by bus from the airport.

You firstly have to catch a bus from the airport into Faro and from there you will need a further bus to Lagoa followed by another bus from Lagoa to Carvoeiro. After that you will certainly need a taxi from the centre of Carvoeiro to your hotel.

If you have family and loaded with luggage I think it would be worth your while paying the 50 euros to travel direct from the airport to your hotel.

Bus service from Faro to Carvoeiro

As someone has suggested before you would find it cheaper to hire a car for the week than pay for a taxi at the beginning and end of your stay. YOR Car Hire recommended !
